Jed Ryan, portrayed by Bill Hale, is an outlaw and member of the gang of Luke Storm and his wife Dallas, appearing in the Rawhide episode Incident of the Tumbleweed. Along with Dallas, gang member Lennie Dawson and 4 other prisoners, Ryan is brought to trial in Fort Gregg by Marshal Wilt Jackson and Deputy Art Gray. One night they are caught by surprise and are both shot, the Deputy being killed and the Marshal getting seriously injured. Ryan is the only one able to escape and he goes looking for Storm so they'll be able to free the other gang members together. The Marshal, however, is not alone as trail boss Gil Favor and his ramrod Rowdy Yates take over for him.
